Dongguan has various schools numbering more than 1000, 5 of which are higher education colleges. Depending upon rather comprehensive and harmonized education system, Dongguan is one of cities having highest basic education competency in mainland, China. Each year Dongguan invests more than 2 billion into education and graduates from ordinary high schools as well as polytechnics total around 30,000, plus more than 7000 college and university graduates. And the occupational education system admits approximately 700,000 trainees for occupational technical training all year around.
